First Communion is celebrated in the spring through the religious education department. Preparation for First Holy Communion is covered in the 2nd grade curriculum for baptized students. Students older than 2nd grade or children who have not been baptized will need to contact the Director of Religious Education.

To receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion, children must:

  • Attend Mass regularly.
  • Attend Religious Education classes.
  • Parents must provide a copy of the child's baptismal record.
  • Receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation before receiving their First Holy Communion (this is a requirement of canon law).

For information on the preparation for First Confession and First Communion, contact the Annie Lombardo, DRE in the Parish Office.
